Program Highlights

• Open to rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors (Fall of 2024)

• Open to players in all string sections

• Highly Selective. 2-3 players chosen per season

• Rehearsals on Tuesday nights

• Opportunity to perform side-by-side with adult players

• Opportunity to play advanced orchestral music

• All performances in Fairfax County

• Up to 4 Concerts a year

• All players receive a stipend at the end of the concert season

Audition Requirements

Scale: One major or minor scale (minimum of 3 octaves).

​Repertoire: Two contrasting pieces or movements from the standard repertoire. 

Please submit a video of your audition. You may either upload a video or send a link to a posting of your audition. If you have technical issues, please contact Mary Bramley at tms@mclean-symphony.org for help.

If accepted into the program, players will be REQUIRED to perform in at least two concerts. Regular rehearsal attendance is essential.

A Family Friendly Holiday Concert 

Rehearsals: 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 11/26, 12/3, 12/10 (dress), 12/13 (soundcheck) 

Saturday April 5 @ 7.30pm: 'Celebrated Virtuosi'

Featuring: Saint-Saens Symphony 3 / Clara Schumann Piano Concerto

Saturday June 14 @ 7.30pm: 'Sounds of America'

Featuring: Hanson Symphony 2 / Barber Violin Concerto
